Preheat oven to broil. Set oven rack at second highest shelf from top.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Rinse salmon fillets under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towel or a clean dish towel. Place on prepared baking sheet, skin side down and let rest at room temperature for a few minutes until ready to use.
In a small bowl combine dry spices. Set aside.
Spread a thin layer of grapeseed oil on both sides of salmon.
Spread the spice mixture evenly onto each fillet and place on prepared baking sheet.
Broil for 5 minutes.
While salmon is in the oven, In a separate bowl, combine the maple syrup and ginger.
Remove from oven, brush each fillet with the maple syrup and ginger.
Return to oven and broil for several minutes.
Salmon is cooked to medium If the flesh of the salmon flakes, it separates easily along the white lines that run across the fillet when gently pressed down on the top with a fork or your finger and is translucent on the inside. Alternatively, it is cooked to medium when the internal temperature is 130ºF, taken with a thermometer. The FDA recommends cooking fish to an internal temperature of 145ºF, however this will result in salmon that is dried out as it continues to cook well after it is removed from the oven..
Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped parsley and lemon wedges.
